Meet Ms. Kerri
MIT Engineer • Educator • UCLA Certified College Counselor
Ms. Kerri is the founder and educational director of Melody & Chord, where she leads a team of educators dedicated to helping students build strong skills, confidence, and a genuine love of learning. She works closely with the team to shape the teaching philosophy and personalized approach behind every program.
Raised in Taiwan and educated in the United States, Kerri brings together the best of both worlds: the discipline, strong foundations, and work ethic of Eastern education with the creativity, curiosity, and independent thinking emphasized in Western education.
Kerri earned her master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT after studying Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics as an undergraduate. Before founding Melody & Chord, she spent seven years in the technology industry as an engineer and manager. She also led technical interviewing and recruiting efforts for candidates from top universities—giving her a firsthand understanding of the skills, thinking, and qualities that stand out beyond the classroom.
Today, she brings that real-world perspective to Melody & Chord’s programs in math, STEM, music, SAT preparation, and college counseling. Her goal is bigger than helping students earn better grades: it is to help them become capable, creative, self-driven young people who are prepared for what comes next.
